At ecoBirdy, we believe meaningful change happens when values align. That's why we're proud to introduce the Love Earth Collection: A limited edition collaboration with Danish children's footwear label bisgaard, born from a shared commitment to children, design, and our planet.
Where it started
By combining ecoBirdy's circular design philosophy with bisgaard's expertise in children's barefoot shoes, we set out to create something that goes beyond a product. Three playful styles with a mission to raise environmental awareness from an early age.
Giving materials a second life
The collection is crafted exclusively from deadstock leather sourced from bisgaard's own production facilities. In footwear manufacturing, around 25–60% of leather becomes cutting waste. Rather than letting these materials go unused, we gave them a second life. Every variation in texture and tone tells the story of where the material came from.
The limited Coastal colour palette (brown, white and blue) draws from earth, sand and sea. Each pair comes with two interchangeable patches shaped as a tree, a whale, a heart, and planet Earth.
The design
For the Love Earth Collection, ecoBirdy applied a patchwork design approach, transforming high-quality leather offcuts into bisgaard's signature silhouettes. Rather than concealing the origin of the materials, the design celebrates it. Every variation in texture and tone tells the story of where the material came from.
The limited Coastal colour palette (brown, white and blue) draws inspiration from earth, sand and sea, subtly referencing the natural environments the collection is designed to protect.
Each pair comes with two interchangeable patches crafted from leftover cut-offs, shaped as a tree, a whale, a heart, and planet Earth. Small symbols that invite children into a playful yet meaningful connection with nature.
