Founders' Letter: On Original Design, Responsibility, and Respect
From the very beginning, our work has been deeply personal.
Each of our designs is the result of a thoughtful and intentional creative process, rooted in our story, our values, and our close relationships. Our Charlie Chair and Luisa Table were created with and inspired by our godchildren, whose names they proudly carry. These pieces embody not only a design vision, but also a meaningful human connection that lies at the heart of our company.
We are the original creators of all our furniture pieces. Our work is the result of years of research, development, and experimentation, particularly in the field of recycled materials, where we have invested significant time, resources, and dedication to creating innovative and responsible alternatives. This commitment shapes not only the appearance of our products, but also their purpose and impact.
Our furniture is produced exclusively in Italy, in collaboration with trusted partners who share our commitment to social responsibility, environmental stewardship, innovation, and creativity. This local and responsible production model is essential to ensuring quality, transparency, craftsmanship, and a reduced environmental footprint.
We state clearly and unequivocally that we have never authorised the reproduction, manufacture, or commercialisation of our designs by third parties anywhere in the world outside our official production network. Any such production is not endorsed by us and does not reflect our values, standards, creative process, or commitment to responsible manufacturing.
Original design carries both creative and ethical value. It represents not only form and function, but also years of investment, research, experimentation, and responsibility. We believe these values deserve recognition and respect globally. The protection of creative work should not be diminished by technicalities or territorial interpretations, but upheld as a fundamental principle that transcends borders, industries, and generations.
Creativity is one of humanity's most valuable qualities. It drives innovation, culture, progress, and positive change. We believe that creators, designers, artists, and innovators deserve respect for their contributions, and that original work should be recognised as an essential part of a healthy and sustainable future.
We remain committed to defending the integrity of our work, advancing sustainable innovation, and promoting a culture in which creativity, responsibility, and originality are respected and passed on to future generations.
Thank you for finding us, for taking the time to read our story, and for supporting the original design.

The Story Behind "Designed by VYDC"
If you look closely at an original ecoBirdy product, you will find the embossed inscription "Designed by VYDC". VYDC stands for Vanbriel Yuan Design Company, combining the family names of founders Joris Vanbriel and Vanessa Yuan. Long before ecoBirdy became a company, it represented our shared passion for design. We chose to include this signature on our furniture because every piece begins with an idea, a sketch, a conversation, and years of dedication of working together. For us, design is deeply personal, and this small mark is a reminder of our togetherness behind every product we create.
