The Cooper Hewitt Design Museum is a design museum located in the Upper East Side's Museum Mile in Manhattan, New York City. It is the only museum in the United States devoted to historical and contemporary design. Its collections and exhibitions explore approximately 240 years of design aesthetic and creativity.
In spring 2019 the Cooper Hewitt Museum launched the exhibition Nature, showing the works of designers and professionals from different disciplines engaging with nature in ground-breaking ways. Driven by a sense of urgency and a profound awareness of climate change and ecological crises as much as advances in science and technology, designers have worked with nature as a guide and partner.
The outcomes are over 60 speculative or practical projects and revealing new materials, creative methods, and inventive technologies. These provocations and solutions were put forth by extraordinary design teams, striving to transform people’s relationship with the natural world.
To accompany this beautiful exhibition, the museum shop provides the opportunity to bring this essential matter and related innovative objects that can be used in daily life.
A selection of creatively upcycled products was chosen to be added to their product range. Our Charlie Chair is part of this unique assortment and is the key-player in their teaser, which is placed in front of the museum’s entrance.
